How to Use a Projector to Drill Small Holes in Clay Jewelry
If you've been around me for a while, you know that my need for efficiency is often what drives me. So when I found myself creating earrings that I loved and then continuously drilling holes off center, I was on a mission! Using a mini projector, a tripod, a couple cords, my cell phone, and a picture of graph paper, I solved my problem!
Here's what I did:
1) Bought a mini projector. The one I bought is a bit pricy but there are more affordable alternatives available. Just search for, "mini projectors", and see what falls in your price range. The one I bought is: PICO PROJECTOR
- If you do get the PICO projector that I linked above, you will need to get a mini HDMI to HDMI Cord. The one I bought is: Mini HDMI to HDMI
- For Apple users, you will also need an Apple lighting to digital AV adapter if you want to link it to your phone or iPad. I have an older iPhone so the one I got is: Apple Lightning to Digital AV Adapter
2) Bought a tabletop tripod to hold my projector. The one I bought is: FDKOBE TRIPOD
3) I then used my iPhone to look on Google Images for a photo of graph paper, screenshot it, and then used the "markup" feature in my photos to mark where I wanted to drill a hole. Then I projected it onto a white piece of paper and placed my earrings on top!
